Turn off Monitor/Computer to Save Energy

Many people leave monitors and computers on all the time and for long periods without even being used. Turning off monitors whenever you are away from the computer for more than a few minutes saves energy and will also lengthen the life of the monitor. Also, save energy by shutting down the computer when you are not going to be using it for hours, especially when leaving work at end of day and before going to bed at night.

All computers, mac and pcs, have options that will automatically turn off the monitor or put the computer to sleep after a specified period of inactivity. Everyone should use these energy saving options. It saves you money, and saves the environment.

they dont allow us to turn off our computers at work.. which i think is a terrible policy--so i turn mine off anyway.
